加拿大联邦技工类移民Federal Skilled Trades Program（FST）是EE系统的三个路径之一。它使用综合排名系统（CRS）对有意申请的人进行评估，并只向最优秀的候选人发出邀请来申请加拿大永久居留，这与所有其他快速通道计划的运行方式相同。
每年，移民到加拿大的人群中，超过一半的人都是经济类移民计划的一部分，其中包括联邦技工类移民。

FST技工移民的申请人需要满足以下四项要求方可被认定为合格：
— 获得有效期至少为一年的一个或两个加拿大雇主提供的工作offer，或者，持有加拿大省或地区监管机构颁发的职业资格证书；
— 提供足够的语言能力证据，证明您熟练掌握加拿大的任意一种官方语言，即申请人的最低语言能力要求为:
口语和听力水平达到CLB 5（英语）或 NCLC 5（法语），以及
阅读和写作水平达到CLB 4（英语）或 NCLC 4（法语）
— 在获得职业资格后，在过去五年中有24个月的技工类职业工作经验（如适用）；
— 符合国家职业分类（NOC）规定的加拿大工作职责描述及工作要求。
— 工作认证或工作offer
2023年4月25日，加拿大移民局将提高联邦技术移民（FSW）和加拿大技工类移民（FST）两个项目的定居资金（settlement funds）要求。CEC经验类别和持有有效job offer的申请人，无需提供定居资金证明。

在加拿大，职业认证的监管权在各省的手中。每个省都设立了相应的监管体系。
在加拿大境外获得省级认证通常是一个复杂的过程，所以，对于已经拿到工作offer，或已经在加拿大以临时外籍劳工身份工作的技术人员来说，这个项目最为适用。
技工们若能从加拿大雇主处获得有效期达一年或更长时间的批准的工作邀请，他们也有资格参与这个项目。相关机构将对工作邀请进行审查，以确认其是否属于合格的行业。

如果一个人符合这些要求，他们可以向加拿大联邦移民、难民及公民部（IRCC）提交快速通道资料。提交快速通道资料并不保证申请人能获得加拿大永久居留权。只有在提交快速通道Express Entry档案后，申请人才会被分配CRS分数，并在未来的快速通道抽签中被考虑用于永久居留申请邀请书（ITA）。
在提交快速通道资料时，FST候选人需要提供若干文件中的信息。
所有参加快速通道项目的申请人必须提供在过去两年内参加的认可的语言测试结果。
候选人需提供身份证件信息。理想的情况是，候选人及所有随行家属应持有有效旅行护照。
虽然联邦技工类FST不需要学历证明材料，但申请人必须具备一定的证明文件才能申请学历积分。
为了申请教育积分，候选人必须提供有效的ECA报告，以证明按照加拿大标准你在外国接受教育的价值。加拿大有五个组织获准签发ECA报告。从加拿大教育机构获得的教育证书不需要这样做。
